Little League Rule Book except for the following:
1. Pitcher may only pitch 50 pitches per game with
o 1-20 pitches in a day, requiring 1 day of rest
o 21-50 pitches in a day, requiring 2 days of rest.
No pitcher can pitch in consecutive games.
2. Three successful steals will be allowed each inning. No advances will be allowed on overthrows by the catcher.
Players are allowed to steal home once per inning. On ball 4 the batter going to second is considered a steal.
3. Play ceases when the ball reaches the mound and is under control of a player.
4. The pitching distance is 40 feet. There is to be 4 outfielders across.
5. A pinch runner for the catcher may be used to speed up the game if there are 2 outs.
6. At the umpire’s discretion, a pitcher may not hit more than 2 batters in an inning or 3 batters in a game.
7. A maximum of 5 runs per inning is allowed. In the sixth inning, a team behind by more than 5 runs will be allowed to
score more than 5 runs and tie. There will be one extra inning played in the event of a tie. If the game is still tied,
it will be recorded as a tie.
8. In the event that a team has runners in scoring position and a hit produces the 5 run limit, play will continue until
the runner is either out or stops at a base. However, ONLY 5 runs will count towards the score.
9. Batting is continuous. No player can sit on the bench for longer than 2 innings and MUST play 4 innings. If you are the
home team, each player has to play 3 innings.
10. Runners cannot leave a base until the ball crosses the plate.
11. Runners must slide to try to avoid the tag. A runner may not crash or ram into a player with the ball in an attempt to
dislodge the ball. There are no HEADFIRST slides permitted. Diving back to a base is permitted.
12. The umpire will issue ONE per-team warning regarding the throwing of the bat. After the warning has been issued,
an automatic out will result.
13. An automatic time-out will occur whenever a player is hurt during the course of a game.
The umpire will put runners on the base the umpire feels the runner would have been able to reach.
14. Players or parents or a combination of both can coach the bases. The infield fly rule will not be enforced.
15. Coaches are responsible for players’, parents’, and fans’ behavior. Umpires may forfeit a game due to
the inappropriate behavior of players, parents or fans.
16. Coaches are not allowed to stand in the playing area.
They must stand either directly in front or to either side of the dugout area or position themselves at the bench area.
17. A pitcher may not re-enter the game as a pitcher.
18. There are no intentional walks.
19. If playing on the Hunking "A" field, any ball that is hit into the parking lot in the air will be considered a home run.
Any ball that rolls into the parking lot, the umpire will determine which base the batter will be awarded.
20. If playing on the Hunking "A" field, any ball hit down the left field line and lost in the brush will be considered an
automatic double. The umpire, at his/her discretion, may award the batter an additional base if the ball has been hit
well enough that it is clearly obvious that an additional base would have been attainable by the batter.
21. If playing on the Hunking "A" field, any ball thrown past first base and beyond the imaginary line of the dugout fence is
considered "out of play" and the runner(s) may advance one base.
22. The umpire makes final determination on ALL RULES. All protests will be decided on the field.
23. In the case of a tie after pool play, seeding will be determined by head to head record for a two-way tie, and for more
than two teams we will use tournament run differential, then fewest runs allowed among tied teams.
If still tied, most runs scored in pool play, if still tied, then a coin flip will be used.
24. There will be one extra inning played in the event of a tie. There will be no tie in the playoffs. There will be a winner.
25. All protests will be settled on the field with a tournament official.
26. Once a batter has squared up in a bunting stance, they must attempt to bunt the ball from that position or pull up if they
don't want to make contact with the ball. They may not pull back and then swing away.
If they do the batter will be declared out.
27. No throwing of the bats or helmets, warning will be issued for the first offense; second offense will be grounds for
removal from the game.
28. All teams will be required to have bases and to keep bench area clean.
29. All catchers must wear a cup, regardless of gender.
30. No breaking balls (curves, sliders, etc) will be allowed. Umpires will call an illegal pitch and a ball.
31. No player is allowed to play on more than one team/age division (double-rostering).
